TCL TVs have new Gemini voice controls.

The upgraded Gemini for Google TV experience lets you speak to open settings, adjust sound and picture, and fix issues by describing them, such as by saying “the screen is too dark.” It’s exclusive to select 2025 and 2026 TCL Google TV models for 60 days, and rolling out now in the US.

Elgato’s video conferencing kit now bundles everything you need except a laptop.

If you crunch the numbers the new $499.99 Conferencing Kit Plus is cheaper buy than buying Elgato’s Prompter, Facecam 1080P webcam, and Wave Desk Stand mounting arm individually. The kit also includes a laptop stand, a USB-C hub so there’s just one cable to plug into your computer, and a one year subscription to all of Elgato’s Airtime Video Essentials apps.

This exposure-tracking pendant will help you stay safe in the sun.

It’s a similar idea as L’Oréal’s My Skin Track UV sensor, but the $299 (discounted to $199 at launch) Gem smart jewelry wearable from The90 is a more stylish alternative. Its sensors measure UVA and UVB exposure throughout the day and based on your skin profile it will tell you how much sun is safe to get and when to reapply sunscreen through an app.

The Gem is available for preorder now and the earliest orders are expected to ship this month.

GuliKit is upgrading its portable dock to work with the Switch 2.

If you want your on-the-go Nintendo Switch 2 TV dock to actually hold your console you might want to wait for GuliKit’s new accessory it recently teased on X. It appears to be a new version of its TV Docking Station for Switch that trades a plastic case for aluminum and adds cooling vents on the underside.

This budget phone has a dot-matrix camera lens.

Dummy lenses are my least favorite design trend in cheap Android phones, so I have mixed feelings about the new Tecno Pova 8 5G. It has what looks like a third camera lens, but is really a Nothing-esque dot-matrix display for alerts and icons. That’s an improvement, I guess?

The Pova 8 5G is out today in India, with other markets to follow.

Double your Switch 2’s storage with a discounted MicroSD Express card.

The 256GB Samsung P9 MicroSD Express is marked down to $47.99 ($32 off) at Amazon. It will give you enough storage to download dozens of Switch 2 games. For reference, Mario Kart World and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom require around 20GB of storage each. The memory card is made for use with the Switch 2, though it’s backwards compatible with other devices.

Nintendo’s Alarmo can now wake you with Donkey Kong smashing things.

If you can’t start your day without the sounds of a simian rampage, Nintendo has added a new Donkey Kong theme to its Alarmo clock as well as 7 new alarm sounds from the Switch 2’s Donkey Kong Bananza. You can preview a few samples of them on Nintendo Japan’s website.

The Apple Watch Walkie-Talkie fun is over, over.

The Walkie-Talkie app for Apple Watch that lets users send push-to-talk voice messages to one another over FaceTime has been quietly removed in the first watchOS 27 developer beta, with no option to reinstall it. It was first introduced alongside watchOS 5 in 2018.

Insta360’s DJI Pocket rival is on sale early.

Technically, Insta360 hasn’t fully announced the wireless-removable-screen, dual-lens camera yet — but that isn’t stopping retailers. The Luna Ultra is $770 at Best Buy and at B&H, and there’s a $970 “Creator Bundle” at Best Buy which adds an extended battery handle, wireless microphone, carrying bag, and wide-angle lens. Lots of unannounced specs at those links too.

The Pebble Round 2 starts shipping next month.

People who pre-ordered the Round 2 have been waiting months for their watches (or potentially over a year for those who switched a Pebble Time 2 pre-order to a Round 2 pre-order). Eric Migicovsky says he’s currently planning for all Round 2 pre-orders to ship by September.

The overclock-ready Radeon 9070 XT is a solid deal at $650.

It’s a win if you can pay close to MSRP on any PC components right now. Gigabyte’s Gaming OC variant of the Radeon 9070 XT is $649.99 in black or white at Amazon ($100 off). Per our benchmarks, it should deliver up to a 20 percent lead compared to Nvidia’s similarly-priced RTX 5070 in gaming performance.
