Squid Game: Unleashed, a “multiplayer battle royale game,” will be released for Netflix subscribers on December 17th, nine days before the launch of season 2 of the show.
Honestly, I don’t think Unleashed looks very good. But Netflix’s mobile games lineup has certified bangers like The Rise of the Golden Idol, so if Unleashed is a bust, there’s other things to play.
Meta’s designers promised Fast Company they’re not trying to turn smart glasses into a hellscape of advertising and distraction:
“We’re all haunted by the Hyper Reality video... And I think that we see it as a huge responsibility. Every pixel that we light up should be worth its weight in gold.”
If any company were excitedly planning to build that hellscape, it’d be Meta, so I’ll take the win. And if you haven’t watched Hyper-Reality yet, it’s fabulous. And horrifying.
Is it a reality show? A mockumentary? A desi Entourage? Maybe a serialized reboot of Om Shanti Om? Whatever this untitled Indian “multi-genre” series is, it’s coming in 2025. Netflix is seeing huge viewership in global markets.

The former congressman selected as Trump’s attorney general has come up in connection to a defamation lawsuit filed by one of his friends, as the New York Times reports a hacker has obtained evidence shared among lawyers on the case:
The file of 24 exhibits is said to include sworn testimony by a woman who said that she had sex with Mr. Gaetz in 2017 when she was 17, as well as corroborating testimony by a second woman who said that she witnessed the encounter.

After previously relying on a third party to handle ad sales on its News app, Apple will now sell ads and sponsorships itself, according to a report from Axios. Apple already sells ads directly to advertisers on the App Store.
Microsoft’s head of Experiences & Devices, Rajesh Jha, just quietly announced a strange change to Microsoft 365 at Ignite today.
“Over the next couple of months we will change the Microsoft 365 app icon to the new Microsoft 365 Copilot icon,” says Jha. The new icon is identical to the Copilot one, instead of the blue and purple Microsoft 365 icon that’s used right now. Microsoft has been struggling with its Copilot branding recently.
Apple has revealed the first look at its upcoming comedy The Studio, which stars Seth Rogen as a budding film studio head. While the show looks full of delightful disasters, perhaps more impressive is the cast which includes the likes of Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, and Bryan Cranston. It starts streaming on March 26th.
