”In recent years, where other key players in our industry collapsed, at AMC we repeatedly instead have talked about recovery,” Aron says in AMC’s Q3 2026 earnings report. “Today, we can finally say that AMC has recovered.”
AMC’s total revenues reached more than $1.7 billion during the quarter, while October domestic box office increased 35 percent during the same time last year, with big flicks like Dune: Part Three, Avengers Doomsday, and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, still set to arrive later this year.

Nintendo revealed yesterday that it held blind voice auditions for the Ocarina of Time remake and ended up casting an actor for the same role they had in the original. That actor was apparently Kaori Mizuhashi, who played Navi in the original and is listed as Navi’s Japanese voice in a leaked credits sequence for the remake, Eurogamer reports.

From an open letter posted on the website of the video game trade union STJV, as reported by Vertical Slice:
Microsoft chose to justify the closure on economic reasons. But Microsoft is actually why those economic reasons even exist. Because after freezing hiring for 19 months, which artificially caused delay and additional cost, Microsoft now use those same delay and additional cost as a reason to close down the studio.
The studio, behind the Dishonored series and Marvel’s Blade, has reportedly drawn bids from Ubisoft and other gaming companies.
The company dropped daily caps from $300 to $200 for engineers and is planning additional reductions, Bloomberg reports.
After clamping down on AI video game clones amid the bigger influx of reverse-engineered games, the company is adjusting its approach to try and discourage straight-up copies:
We’d added a short rule to the Opus 5.5 prompt to steer Claude away from recreating specific existing games, but it was also kicking in when you referenced one just to describe the mechanics you wanted.
We’ve updated that rule in 2.1.317. You can name a game to describe what you want and Claude should now build an original game in that genre. If you ask for a copy of the original, it’ll offer to build something similar instead.
LA recently decided to move forward with installing hundreds of Axon’s ALPRs after it cut ties with the scandal-plagued Flock. Now Axon is facing a class action suit, suggesting people’s problem is less with Flock specifically and more with the AI-powered surveillance state in general. According to Reuters:
The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in federal court in San Francisco by law firms Hausfeld and Gibbs Mura, alleges Axon has failed to comply with a California privacy provision by not disclosing how it collects, uses and shares plate data gathered through its camera systems. “Axon has created a mass-surveillance infrastructure that is practically impossible to avoid,” the lawsuit said.
As part of changes going into effect on December 5th, Fortnite Crew will give subscribers 1,000 V-Bucks per month instead of 800. If you continuously subscribe for long enough, you’ll get even more monthly V-Bucks. The price for Crew will remain $11.99 per month.
However, Epic will stop making the Crew-exclusive skins and is ending the battle pass dedicated to the OG mode (though it promises that the “Next Era of Fortnite OG drops in late 2027”).

Xiaomi posted a time-lapse video on X of two of its humanoid robots working a full shift at a sorting station in an auto factory. Not sure why, but something about losing a job to a humanoid robot seems much more dystopian than losing it to a giant industrial machine.
Benly Watch’s Desktop 95 pays homage to Windows 95 with a watch face featuring various windows, icons, and a bright turquoise background — unless you prefer a more subdued beige alternative. The $159 watch also uses a mouse pointer and hand cursor for its hour and minute hands. You can get it with various strap designs, but it’s only available as a limited run of just 500 pieces.
