Bentley will install actual rock inside your car

As if Bentley motorcars weren’t heavy enough, the British marque is letting customers install bespoke “stone veneer technology” in their cars. The stone veneers, just 0.1mm thick (and admittedly, probably not very heavy), can replace some of the wood and leather veneers around the interior of the car.

Like everything inside a Bentley, it’s quite a process to get the stone from the ground into your Continental GT. It’s sourced from “hand-selected quarries” in India. Each piece of stone is selected from larger chunks of rock, then cured using glass fiber and “a bespoke resin.” Then, they’re shaped and hand finished by Bentley’s coach building team in Crewe, England.

They’re available in four colors — Galaxy, Autumn White, Terra Red, and Copper — in either the Bentley Continental or the Flying Spur. Pricing isn’t disclosed, but Bentley said its “bespoke team” would “work with individual purchasers to discuss their unique requirements.” Translation? If you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
