8BitDo’s arcade controllers now support the Switch 2.

If you want to make your Street Fighter 6 experience feel as authentic as possible, 8BitDo has added its recently-announced leverless Arcade Controller and its older Arcade Stick to its growing list of controllers that are compatible with the Switch 2.

You’ll just need to perform a firmware update using 8BitDo’s Ultimate Software or its dedicated Upgrade tool.

“Game Boy worm lights have changed a lot since I was a kid.”

I didn’t even know USB-C endoscopes were a thing, but now I’ve got one plugged into my Nintendo Switch 2 and phone! And yes, it also works as a GameChat webcam when you’re not inspecting pipes and walls. Unfortunately, my $10 model is out of stock. Maybe you’ll find a less flimsy one?

We asked every major webcam maker what’s up with Switch 2 compatibility and got no substantive answers.

Nintendo, Logitech, Razer, Microsoft, Anker, Elgato, Dell, Insta360, Obsbot, Opal — none has answers for us yet, nearly two weeks after the Switch 2 launch.

Thankfully, Reddit’s been crowdsourcing such a list, and we’ve added it to our first-hand testing at the link below! If you know why some webcams don’t work with Switch 2, please drop me an email. Ditto if you know why some HDMI docks and hubs don’t work.

Eeveelutions are taking over Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Just when you thought your hourglasses were safe, Pokémon TCG Pocket has announced a new Eevee-themed expansion that’s scheduled to release on June 26th and seems like it’s going to take a few cues from some of the physical card game’s most sought-after sets.

Mario Kart World gets its first update since the Switch 2 launch.

The Switch 2’s flagship title just got its second patch tonight, following a day-one update for Mario Kart World that enabled the camera and online play.

This new 1.1.1 patch is a smaller update to address glitches that could disable items or controls, or cause the game to shut down suddenly.

I found a USB-C to ethernet adapter that works with the Switch 2, and one that doesn’t.

Just as the Switch 2 doesn’t play nicely with a lot of webcams out there, the same may be true for USB-C to ethernet adapters, too. I snagged an $12.99 Anker model last week (model A8341), plugged it into the console’s top USB-C, and ... nothing happened. Thankfully, my second attempt, Ugreen’s CM199 adapter, works just fine.

The Switch 2’s dock has an ethernet port, but in case you’re in need of an adapter for downloading games at a respectable speed while in handheld mode, they’re $14.99 at Amazon, or $12.99 if you have a Prime subscription.

The Switch 2 is turning off Joy-Con rumble automatically.

Several users on Reddit have spotted a notification that tells them, “Rumble has been turned off due to prolonged use,” as reported earlier by IGN. The pop-up seems to appear during rumble-heavy scenes and gameplay in titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Split Fiction, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

It’s still not clear why Nintendo added this feature, but it’s possible that it could have something to do with saving Joy-Con battery life.

This video might help you fix a Switch 2 that looks overly bright and washed out on a TV.

Vincent Teoh, one of YouTube’s most knowledgeable and thorough TV reviewers, has released a video addressing an issue many Switch 2 owners are struggling with.

If you’re finding Mario Kart World and other titles look washed out when playing through a TV, Teoh explains what’s potentially causing it, what options on your TV may need to be changed, and how to properly calibrate the Switch 2’s HDR settings to make games look more vibrant.

Everybody 1, 2 Switch.

It’s been a couple of weeks since the Switch 2 was finally released into the wild. We here at The Verge have been working hard to bring you a comprehensive review of the console under less than ideal circumstances.

Here’s what we had to say about the Switch 2 Pro Controller and Mario Kart World, currently one of the two first-party Switch 2 exclusive titles. Fortnite got a fresh-feeling coat of paint on the new console and here’s a list of webcams you can use with the Switch 2’s extra USB-C port. And of course, here’s what we think of the actual console itself.

The Switch 2 Pro Controller also looks difficult to upgrade and repair.

We’ve already seen inside the Switch 2 and the new Joy-Cons, but YouTube’s VK’s Channel has completely disassembled the Switch 2 Pro Controller and it’s more bad news.

The controller’s joysticks are modular, but getting inside the gamepad to upgrade it with Hall effect or TMR sticks, or to just replace its rechargeable battery, looks overly complicated with access through a glued on face plate that needs to be pried away first.

GuliKit says it’s figured out how to make its controllers wake the Switch 2.

The only gamepad that can wake the new console is Nintendo’s own upgraded Pro controller — even the original Switch’s Pro controller can’t. But that could soon change as GuliKit, which previously noted that the Switch 2 “uses a new system protocol,” now says it’s figured out how to get its third-party controllers to wake the handheld.

Dbrand’s new skins give you a peek inside the Switch 2.

Until transparent replacement shells for the Nintendo Switch 2 hit the market, Dbrand’s new Teardown skin is the easiest way to peek inside the handheld console without actually tearing it down yourself.

Created in collaboration with JerryRigEverything, there are two kits available: a cheaper $19.95 option that wraps just the Joy-Cons, and a more comprehensive $49.95 Deluxe Kit that includes skins for the back of the console and the front of the dock.

You’ll need the $49.95 Deluxe Kit if you also want to wrap the back of the Switch 2.

It’s time, squids.

Nintendo has just pushed the big Splatoon 3 update for the Switch 2. The company also noted that it has also made some improvements / changes to how the game runs on the original Switch in order to “reduce differences in game operation speed as much as possible” when compared with the new console.

GuliKit wants you to know it’s already working on joystick upgrades for the Switch 2.

Teardowns have confirmed that the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons are using the same joystick technology as the originals, which could potentially lead to issues with drift over time. GuliKit, the company that released Hall effect upgrade kits for the original Joy-Cons two years ago, said on X that it’s already “working hard on the magnetic joystick replacement.” But it hasn’t confirmed if the replacements will use Hall effect technology, or the newer TMR joystick tech.

Nintendo says the Switch 2 is its best selling console ever.

Through four days, at least, after moving 3.5 million units over the weekend. You’ve heard our thoughts on the system, what are yours?

Nintendo Co., Ltd. (HQ: Kyoto, Minami-ku, Japan; Representative Director and President: Shuntaro Furukawa, “Nintendo” hereafter) announced that its new game system, Nintendo Switch 2, sold over 3.5 million units worldwide in the four days following its release on June 5, 2025*. This is the highest global sales level for any Nintendo hardware within the first four days.
