Is Samsung’s Snapdragon X ARM laptop imminent?

Yes, in a few days, says German tech site WinFuture, citing unnamed sources (and Samsung’s site). That includes a 16-inch Galaxy Book 4 Edge Pro that’s equipped with the highest-end version of the Snapdragon X ARM chip that’s meant to take on Apple’s custom M-series chips.

Expect other Snapdragon X laptops soon, including from Microsoft, Dell, and Asus.

Here’s a peek at the first Snapdragon X Elite laptop coming from Asus.

Microsoft’s big AI PC event is just days away, and we’re seeing more leaks of Arm-powered Windows PCs with Qualcomm’s new chips inside.

This post from WinFuture’s Roland Quandt shows that, like Dell and Lenovo, Asus’ plans include a version of the Vivobook S 15 OLED that’s ready to battle Apple’s M-series laptops.

Ayaneo plans ornate AG01 “Graphics Starship” eGPU dock.

The gaming handheld and mini-PC maker describes the Zune-brown and RGB dial-clad unit as a “Multifunction Graphics Dock,” but is holding details for a “Sharing Session” on May 18th at 3AM ET, as reported by VideoCardz.

Mobile graphics docks are slowly coming to market, including AMD 7600M XT-powered ones like the GPD G1 and the ONEXGPU (which can both connect with Oculink), and the RTX 4090-powered ROG XG Mobile.

Asus will announce an “AI PC” the same day as Microsoft.

Microsoft’s Surface and AI event is coming May 20th, expected to reveal the consumer Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, featuring Qualcomm chips that could (maybe?) give Apple a run for its money. But Asus will have such a Qualcomm laptop, too. To make sure you’re aware, it’ll do its own virtual launch at 11AM PT that day.

The M1 MacBook Air price war between Best Buy and Walmart is on.

Now that Apple’s done selling the M1 MacBook Air, Walmart is offering the 8GB RAM, 256GB storage model for $699, which Best Buy quickly responded to by dropping its price to $649.99.

Other laptops have more capacity, and newer models probably have more software updates to look forward to, but at these prices, it’s harder to complain. So let us know, are any of you picking up one more wedge-shaped laptop while you still can?

Its beautiful 16-inch OLED display morphs into a 12-inch laptop, but do splurge for the ‘optional’ keyboard and folio.
