Only one tablet has survived the rise and fall of the tablet craze — mostly unscathed, that is— and that’s the Apple iPad. First launched in 2010, the original iPad mostly served as a larger iPhone, but without calling capabilities. And with no front-facing camera, you couldn’t even place video calls. Fast forward almost a decade and Apple’s tablet lineup are bonafide laptop replacements for some. Apple has adapted the iPad in form, function, and overall cost in such a way that it’s become the no-brainer tablet purchase.
Here’s a quick demo of Stem Splitter, a new feature added to Logic Pro for iPad and Mac, which takes a single track of mixed instruments and splits it into individual multitrack files for remixing or sampling.
This idea, using AI to separate music tracks, seemed so novel only 6 months ago when we got a new Beatles song using a similar process with John Lennon’s old tape recordings.

Apple’s latest high-end tablet is a marvel of hardware design still in need of the software and accessories to really make it sing. But wow is it fun to use.
It’ll be its first update since the 2021 model, but don’t expect much — it’ll come with a processor bump, Mark Gurman wrote to subscribers of his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg yesterday. But as he also wrote in April, it won’t get much else.
It’s pretty impressive, apparently:
“I picked up the iPad Pro at this event in New York and, like, out loud, involuntarily, just said, ‘holy shit.’”
Amidst the very divided reactions surrounding Apple’s new iPad Pro ad, users have dug up a 2008 commercial for the LG KC910 Renoir 8MP phone... and it looks pretty familiar.
It’s versatile, doesn’t weigh much, and no one else makes anything quite like it for the iPad Pro. Hopefully it’s not gone for good.
In a memo sent to stores, Apple says it’s not including stickers with the new iPad Pro or iPad Air, but customers can still ask for them at the store, according to 9to5Mac. The company reportedly pointed to its environmental initiatives, like its plastic-free packaging goals.
Apple has been omitting stickers in more products, but that’s mostly only included gadgets like its AirPods.
Funding tech in education is tough. Luckily those fresh new iPad Airs can be paired with Logitech’s updated Combo Touch keyboards that are cheaper than Apple’s and can lighten up that purchase order total.
The 11-inch version is $199.95 and the 13-inch is $229.95, and they offer great protection for K-12. There’s iPad Pro versions, too, for fancy private schools.
The release candidate signifies that Apple is wrapping up this round of betas before the update goes to everyone. It’s fairly minor for the US, adding things like Apple’s next Pride wallpaper and a new Apple News puzzle game.
It’s much more significant for the EU, where updated iPhones will now be able to download apps straight from the web.

Maxon announced in October that it will bring its beloved desktop 3D sculpting software to the platform this year, but our first look at it comes courtesy of Apple’s “Let Loose” iPad event.
There’s still no word on the release date or pricing. The UI looks really clean though, and it seemingly supports Zbrush’s Sculptris Pro mode, judging by the icon seen up top.
We’re expecting a new iPad Pro, iPad Air, and a few new accessories.
You can erase the logo for the company’s “Let Loose” iPad event (10AM ET tomorrow) at the top of its home page. I can’t seem to erase the whole thing before it switches to new art, though.
