The Daywalker is definitely dead.

The writing has been on the wall about Marvel’s Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali being dead in the water, but in a new interview with GQ, the actor explains why he’s done talking about the project falling apart:

Those questions are for them. They didn’t want to do it, so they should answer that question.

Lanterns seems like a leftover from the old DCU.

The Damon Lindelof-headed (Lost, The Leftovers, Watchmen) series is clearly grounded in crime and noir and eschews the brighter, quippier vibe of modern DCU properties under the leadership of Tim Peter Safran and James Gunn.

In addition to the new season, three extended-length episodes have also been greenlit, including a Christmas special for 2027. And, unlike season 13, this one won’t drop in one giant, bingable chunk. Season 14 will return to weekly episodes.

The latest entry in the series was given a firm release date at Comic Con 2026, after being revealed during a Sony State of Play showcase in early June. Unlike previous God of War titles, this one won’t focus on angry dad Kratos, instead following the more dexterous mom Laufey.

Clayface is going heavy on the body horror.

If there was any doubt that DC Studios’ Clayface feature was going to be a proper body horror, the movie’s latest trailer makes it pretty clear that director James Watkins has cooked up something that’s going to make your skin crawl.

WBD’s shareholders yearn for the sweet embrace of David Ellison.

Deadline reports that WBD’s shareholders have “overwhelmingly” voted the sell the legacy studio to Paramount Skydance for $31 per share. Shareholders rejected a proposed compensation package for current CEO David Zaslav that could range from $500-800 million. But Zaslav could still wind up walking away with a lot of money because that vote was non-binding.

Why the long face?

The latest poster for DC Studios’ upcoming Clayface movie — out October 23rd — from director James Watkins definitely leans into a kind of body horror that’s very different for the DCU. That kind of energy could be nice change of pace as the studio builds its new cinematic universe.

Update: And now we’ve got a trailer.

The entire point of HBO’s upcoming Lanterns series is to introduce new incarnations John Stewart and Hal Jordan — two superpowered space cops — to DC Studios’ cinematic universe. But Lanterns first teaser trailer makes it seem like the show might feel much more like True Detective when it premieres in August.
