ADT is back in Blu.

Its new DIY security system, ADT Blu, revives the Blue by ADT name (the company’s last attempt at an off-the-shelf system) and uses the same hardware as ADT Plus (its self- or pro-installed system). But it’s DIY-only and can be bought on Amazon. The other difference? No Google Nest cameras. The system comes with new ADT cameras. Pricing for ADT Blue starts at $249.

The base station is the same as in the ADT Plus system and features Thread and Z-Wave radios along with Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth, and DECT UL.
The new cameras feature an indoor and outdoor model and range from $69-$109.
The cameras offer AI video features to deliver smart alerts.

LinkedIn is cracking down on spammy AI-generated comments.

The platform began limiting the visibility of content deemed “generic or repetitive” earlier this year, and now it’s expanding this system to “low-effort” comments that may be AI-generated. That includes comments posted across LinkedIn using automation tools with “little or no human involvement,” as well as ones that “restate the original post without sharing anything new.”

Google Flow Music is getting a dedicated mobile app.

It’s already available on iOS, and coming to Android soon. Google is also adding granular editing tools for changing portions of an AI-generated song, tweaking beat drops, or rewriting lyrics. It’s also adding the ability to generate “covers” and music videos, so you can countrify that punk song you prompted.

If Google can’t make AI agents useful, maybe no one can

Google has been working on agentic AI for years. Building on the viral success of OpenClaw could finally tip the scales.

Google’s big ask.

Yesterday Emma Roth wrote that Google’s pitch for AI at I/O demands both your trust and your personal data. Going by the comment section, that’s a trade many of you are no longer willing to make.

Google lost the first long ago and will never get any more of the second out of me.

Google’s Find Hub gets location sharing notifications.

The Find Hub app on Android has been updated, allowing you to create notifications for when someone arrives or leaves a set location, like home or work. The person you’re tracking will be alerted to the notifications, and can disable them at any time.

Discord calls are now end-to-end encrypted.

The encryption is enabled by default for every voice and video call, though the company has no plans to extend that to text messages on the platform. “Call quality and performance remain at the level our users expect,” Discord’s Mark Smith said in a blog post. “E2EE happens transparently.”

You can now feel every intense PowerPoint image alignment through your mouse.

Logitech has announced its vibrating MX Master 4 mouse that debuted last September now natively supports Windows 11’s Advanced Haptics. A new firmware update now available adds haptic feedback effects to mundane actions like snapping windows during a resize and aligning PowerPoint objects, with additional effects being rolled out in the coming months.

Dreame’s stair climbing robovac is coming soon, and there’s a bionic arm, too.

Today, the company announced that on May 27th, it will reveal when its Cyber X bionic quad-track stair-climbing system will launch and, presumably, how much it will cost. The robot that can transport a robot vacuum up a flight of stairs will arrive alongside three new X60 Pro series robots, the most intriguing of which features Dreame’s first dual-joint bionic robotic arm that can extend a mop pad into tight corners and under furniture.

The X60 Pro will work with the Cyber X and features a mopping pad that extends 7 inches from the robot.
There’s also a baseboard brush.
The X60 Pro can climb double-layer thresholds up to about 4 inches.
