As Variety reports, The Odyssey has officially pulled in over $1 billion in global ticket sales, including $257 million from IMAX tickets. Within “a matter of days,” it’s expected to pass The Dark Knight Rises to become Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing film yet.
President Donald Trump tapped Danielle Thumann Severs to join the Federal Communications Commission. If confirmed, it would bring the agency’s makeup to three Republicans and one Democrat, with room for one more non-Republican commissioner. Chair Brendan Carr praised the nomination, though he already has enough votes to pass his agenda.

GTA VI also won’t launch on a physical disc. On the call, Zelnick said that Take-Two’s business is already “well over 90 percent digitally distributed,” according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier.

9to5Google reports that Android Canary 2608 includes an interface for generating custom lockscreen clock designs using AI prompts, similar to Android’s “Create My Widget” feature. It also includes options for uploading a reference image or using “Ideas” Google suggests, but according to 9to5Google “server-side functionality” for the feature isn’t live yet.

I woke up to an email from Framework this morning letting me know my data was included in a “limited” data breach at one of Framework’s partners reported on August 6th. Framework says hackers accessed “customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses” but not order or payment info.
