It’s time for The Show.

MLB The Show Mobile, a mobile version of Sony’s baseball franchise, has officially been released worldwide (except in Japan) on iOS and Android. In the game, you put make a team from player cards (“including current stars and all-time greats”) and then use that deck in solo and multiplayer modes.

Sony soft-launched the game late last year.

Uber drivers in Massachusetts are now unionized.

The newly formed App Drivers Union represents 70,000 rideshare drivers in the state. The group can negotiate pay, benefits, and deactivation policies as part of its contract. It is the first officially recognized union representing Uber and Lyft drivers in the US.

Who brings a laptop to the Eastern Conference Finals?

Knicks fans are certainly an eccentric bunch. One of them felt the need to bust out his laptop to record himself celebrating outside Madison Square Gardens after the Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hope it wasn’t a work laptop!

‘If I were to say what I think, I would be hurting Ferrari.’

That was Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, former Ferrari president, commenting on the recent reveal of the polarizing electric Luce. He continued (translated from Italian):

There is a risk of destroying a legend. I am very sorry. I hope… I hope to… I hope they take the prancing horse off that car, at least… This is definitely a car that, at least, the Chinese won’t copy.

Sony’s sloppy Spider-Man universe gets even messier with Spider-Noir

Spider-Verse aside, it feels like Sony is just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.

Trump admin proposes NDAs for federal workers to crack down on leaks.

A document posted to the federal register shows the administration is considering a new non-disclosure agreement barring government workers from sharing confidential information. It’s unclear what it would actually change, and agencies would have discretion to adopt it. If you’re a federal worker who wants to chat anonymously, I’m on Signal at laurenfeiner.64.

Google’s AI is sometimes confused if 2027 is next year.

As noted on Bluesky, if you search “is it 2027 next year,” Google’s AI Overviews occasionally state that 2027 is two years from now. But this apparently isn’t even a new issue: when I got AI Overviews to mess up, it cited old Instagram and Reddit posts making fun of wrong responses to the same query.

By the way, Google still isn’t showing an AI Overview when you search “disregard.” AI Overviews are going just great!

A screenshot of the Google Search query, “is it 2027 next year.”
Here’s the Instagram post that Google is sourcing from.

I didn’t expect Boston Dynamics’ new factory robot to be this nimble.

Despite first being destined for Hyundai factories, the production version of Boston Dynamics’ Atlas robot looks no less capable than the one that debuted over two years ago. A new video demonstrates some impressive moves with a soccer ball, including a celebration dance worthy of any highlight reel.
