Samsung Display’s 4K QD-OLED monitor panels just got brighter and faster.

“Samsung Display has successfully developed the first QD-OLED monitors to combine 4K resolution with a 360Hz refresh rate,” it claims, adding the 31.5-inch panel can also do 1080p at 680Hz and hit 600 nits brightness while maintaining true blacks (DisplayHDR True Black 600). That’s up from 240Hz and 500 nits previously.

So, would you dope for $10 million?

Well, I was too busy putting the finishing touches on my feature about the Enhanced Games to notice that the company is now offering a $10 million prize for sprinters who can break Usain Bolt’s 100m record of 9.58 seconds at the Enhanced Games 2027. Oh boy. Here we go.

Memory money: SK Hynix, Micron, and Samsung are all trillion-dollar companies now.

As the Wall Street Journal reports, SK Hynix and Micron both passed the milestone this week. The spike in value for the world’s three largest DRAM manufacturers follows a months-long global memory shortage, driven by demand from AI data centers, that’s causing prices to skyrocket on everything from phones to game consoles.

Lamborghini CEO talks EVs vs. hybrids after the Ferrari Luce launch.

Stephan Winkelmann didn’t comment directly on Ferrari’s EV, but told CNBC that his company’s decision to cancel its EV plans in favor of hybrids was “the right way to go.”

…we saw that the acceptance curve [of EVs] for our type of customers is not increasing, and that therefore we decided to move away from a full-electric car into a plug-in hybrid.

Your preferred sources for Google will now be highlighted in AI searches.

If you’ve set up preferred sources — like, say, The Verge — they’ll be labeled in AI Overviews and AI Mode, according to Google. The company says that “people are twice as likely to click through to a Preferred Source.”

If you buy something from a Verge link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

Rivian R2 order invitations will start rolling out June 9th.

While a few Rivian employees have already received their R2s, the first customer deliveries won’t start until next month. Rivian says order invitations to R2 reservation holders will start to go out on “a rolling basis,” with current R1T and R1S owners getting first priority. The first version to get delivered will be the R2 Performance with Launch Package ($59,485), followed by R2 Premium ($55,485) in late 2026. Once your order is confirmed, delivery should take 2-6 weeks, the company says.

Yes, the WordPress battle with WP Engine is still going on.

And it seems like WordPress.org co-founder Matt Mullenweg is growing frustrated with the legal battle, which has dragged on for nearly two years:

Amazon Prime Video is adding animated series made with AI.

Amazon MGM Studios greenlit three shows as part of its GenAI Creators’ Fund, which gives producers access to the company’s AI filmmaking platform. The projects include Cupcake & Friends from BuzzFeed Studios; Love, Diana Music Hunters from former Nickelodeon exec Albie Hecht; and Punky Duck from animator Jorge R. Gutierrez.

All three shows will debut on Prime Video “at a future date.”

It’s not stopping any time soon.

Over the last few months, I’ve written stories with the headlines “Waiting to buy a game console will cost you,” “Everything about buying video games is getting more confusing and expensive,” and “The future of game consoles is looking bleak.” And the costs just keep going up: the Steam Deck is now $200 more expensive. Whew!
