Plex, the DIY platform that lets you stream your media anywhere to just about any device, is today launching Web Shows with series you can already find on sites like YouTube and Vimeo. Plex Web Shows features the likes of ASAPscience, Household Hacker, The Pet Collective, Epic Meal Time, and People are Awesome, to name just a few series available today, and brands like Pitchfork, Vanity Fair, and GQ. Plex promises many more on-demand shows to come over time.
Plex adds web shows in its relentless pursuit of content
All your content, anywhere
All your content, anywhere

Plex’s goal is to create a single interface and experience for all your media, be it podcasts, films, live or recorded television, music, news, photos, video, VR content, and now web series. For heavy Plex users, the addition of web shows could mean fewer apps, subscriber lists, and notification alerts to manage by keeping everything inside of the centralized Plex experience.
You can subscribe to Web Shows within the Plex app, which will alert you to new episodes and help you keep track of older shows you may have missed. The Plex recommendation engine will suggest other shows from around the web that match your personal interests.
Plex Web Shows is currently in beta, so you can expect a few hiccups as is the norm for new Plex services. It’s free though, so quit complaining, as it doesn’t require a paid Plex subscription or even a Plex Media server running inside your home.
