The latest Civilization game just went mobile. In a surprise launch, Civilization VI — which first came out on PC last year — is now available on Apple’s tablet. It looks to be a fully-featured version of the strategy game as well, complete with large-scale empires to build, the ability to research new technologies and cultures, and even a local multiplayer mode. The App Store description call it “the full, award-winning Civilization VI experience.”

Surprise!
Surprise!
While it may come as a surprise, publisher Take-Two has released large strategy games on mobile before, including the original XCOM (though curiously not its sequel). However, all of that comes at a price. The entirety of Civilization VI on iPad will set you back a cool $59.99 — though it’s on sale for half that price until January 4th. Thankfully, you’ll be able to test it out beforehand. The game is free to download, and you can play through 60 turns without spending anything.
