Tidal’s apps can now control your Sonos

Tidal has added in-app controls for Sonos, allowing you to control your sound system without having to switch apps. Tidal is the third service to add the feature, following Spotify and Pandora, who added the capability earlier this week.

Users can control playback to their Sonos speakers through the app, and friends who don’t have access to your Sonos (but are on your Wi-Fi network) can play music through your speakers as well. Much like Spotify, it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to control groups through Tidal’s app; at this point the only app that can do that is Pandora.

Tidal is also giving out free three-month trials of Tidal HiFi to Sonos users as part of the launch.
