Video game movies are notorious for spending eternity in development hell, but this one’s actually happening: here’s the first trailer for Assassin’s Creed. The movie doesn’t appear to take too heavily from any of the games in particular, but it’s very much in line with the series’ usual tropes — the plot sees Marion Cotillard send Michael Fassbender back to the time of the Spanish Inquisition to alter the genetic memories left by an assassin ancestor. Or something. Look, there are wristblades involved.
