Before announcing its instantaneous international mega-expansion on stage at its CES 2016 keynote, Netflix shared a bunch of new footage from some of its upcoming original series. After releasing a sizzle reel for royal drama The Crown, the streaming service premiered a similar piece of footage for Baz Luhrmann and Shawn Ryan’s ‘70s musical drama The Get Down. According to The Verge’s liveblogger Ross Miller, the show features “a lot of disco, a lot of clothes-on thrusting, a few guns, and frustration.” Like The Crown, The Get Down doesn’t have a confirmed release date beyond “this year.” At least we know a few billion more people around the world will be able to watch it.
