Although a report today from Fortune suggested the first smart-home gadgets powered by Apple’s HomeKit wouldn’t be ready until August or September, it appears that’s not the case.
Apple says the first HomeKit devices are coming next month

An Apple spokeswoman told The Wall Street Journal that “HomeKit has been available for just a few months and we already have dozens of partners who have committed to bringing HomeKit accessories to market and we’re looking forward to the first ones coming next month.” Fortune has since updated its story to say “some devices” have been delayed.
Since announcing HomeKit almost a year ago, Apple never officially set a release date for the first HomeKit devices, although reports suggested the first of them would come out around this time. The new timing could mean Apple makes an announcement about the platform at Worldwide Developers Conference, set for June 8th.
