Yoky Matsuoka, Nest’s VP of technology, has confirmed that she is leaving the Google-owned company for Twitter, as The Verge reported last week. Matsuoka’s new role is VP of technology and analytics. She made the announcement by tweeting for the first time.

— Yoky Matsuoka (@yokymatsuoka) February 3, 2015 Matsuoka is a former robotics professor who later became a founding member of the experimental Google X lab. She joined Nest in 2010 and led development of key technology for the company’s first product, the Nest Learning Thermostat. Twitter’s previous head of analytics, Adam Kinney, left the company last October.
