If EVE Valkyrie is any indication, the Oculus Rift is a great way to virtually hop in the cockpit of a spaceship. And one developer has taken that idea to its logical conclusion by recreating Luke Skywalker’s Death Star trench run from the original Star Wars. Based on the video below, it appears to be a pretty faithful recreation, both looking and sounding the part, providing perhaps the most immersive way to exploit the Death Star’s biggest security flaw. You can even turn your head to see R2-D2 hanging out in the back of your X-Wing. Now we’re just waiting for the inevitable pod racing-based follow-up.
