Oculus VR recently raised $75 million in funding to build a new, ambitious virtual reality headset, but the company is also focusing on the other side of the equation: the games. Today, Oculus announced a new publishing arm in order to entice developers to build new games for the platform. Leading the initiative is David DeMartini, former senior VP at Electronic Arts, who previously had a very similar outreach role with EA’s Partners program.

"There are other cool things besides games that you can do with the platform."
“I’m figuring out how to partner effectively with big developers, small developers, all the way down to the individual who just wants to make something great for the Rift,” he told Gamasutra. There are few details about how the program will work, but DeMartini won’t be focusing just on game makers. “There are other cool things besides games that you can do with the platform: IMAX movies, live concerts, educational programs, that kind of thing,” he said. Currently only a small number of notable game developers have pledged support for the fledging VR platform, including EVE Online creator CCP.
