Just as promised two weeks ago, Aereo is now available for Android tablets and smartphones. It’s a rather limited rollout, though: as expected, only devices running Android 4.2 and up can take advantage of the service, which uses tiny antennas to stream broadcast television to subscribers in a similiarly limited number of markets. Presently, Aereo is only available in New York City, Boston, Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and Salt Lake City, though Detroit should get service next week. The company’s presently fighting a legal battle against broadcasters who want to shut down the service permanently, though so far the courts have ruled in Aereo’s favor. If you’ve got the right combination of Android device and living situation, you can find the app at our source link below.
