Huawei’s new 6.1-inch Ascend Mate may have stolen the show at the company’s CES press conference, but it’s not the only device from the Chinese manufacturer — there’s also the 5-inch, 1080p Ascend D2, which would be huge and impressive were it not for its sibling. Huawei calls it the “most powerful smartphone” nonetheless, with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 3000mAh battery, and a 13-megapixel camera to back up that impressively sharp display.
Huawei’s 5-inch 1080p Ascend D2 smartphone somehow looks small in the lineup

The D2 uses similar design language to its bigger brother, with a curved design making it feel thinner in the hand than the 9.9mm it actually is. Huawei is clearly making a major push towards high-end phone design with the D2 and Mate; we’ll have to see if customers in the West take to its latest offerings.
