Details of Fujifilm X100 and X10 successors leak, reveal improved AF and focus peaking

Fujifilm may be planning to unveil successors to its renowned X100 mirrorless camera as well as the X10 at CES. Purported images of the cameras have appeared on Digicam Info, with both maintaining their vintage silver / leather aesthetics. Rather than outright renaming its X100, which has garnered a stellar reputation among enthusiasts, Fujifilm has apparently branded the next version as the X100S. Photo Rumors has also chimed in with some rumored specs for the eagerly-awaited releases. The site says that both cameras will adopt a hybrid autofocus system that combines phase detection and contrast detection systems for more accurate and faster focusing.

Better still, rumors also indicate Fujifilm may be adding focus peaking, a visual aid that’s long been something of an exclusive to Sony’s NEX line of interchangeable-lens cameras. Further, the X100S could receive a larger, 2,360,000-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, compared to the existing model which sports a 0.47-inch, 1,440,000-dot EVF.
