You’ll notice something different when logging into Rdio on the web or desktop client today — the music streaming service has given itself a facelift. The new design is pretty aggressively minimal, with album artwork offset against a flat white background that does away with the gradients and boxes from before. Rdio says the new design is “lighter, brighter, and easier on the eye,” and it’s not just a surface-level update — the service also promises some speed improvements. With the Windows 8 desktop getting rid of Aero Glass and now this, it’s anyone’s guess as to who’ll be out next with a flat-shaded refresh.
