Only a few days after Oppo claimed the title of “world’s thinnest smartphone” with its 6.65mm thick Finder, ZTE has begun teasing its own record setting handset that boasts a depth of just 6.2mm. According to Sina Weibo posts from the company’s head of handset strategy, Lu Qianhao, the device is called Athena and will feature a 720p IPS display, a Cortex-A15 processor, 64GB of storage, and ZTE’s Mifavor Android skin. Lu’s posts also included a number of photos of the device, though none offer a clear shot of the exterior or on-screen menus. Unfortunately, many other critical details remain unknown, most notably how much it will cost and when we might see it in stores.
