The world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is huge, to the point that most players won’t see the majority of what the game has to offer. But for some it just isn’t big enough. One Reddit user decided to test the limits of the virtual world, venturing past its artificial boundaries. “I console-moved myself past one of those unsummitable mountains and just kept going,” user NorthBus wrote. Early on came the discovery of an island from a previous game in the series, which was used as a background object, though it understandably proved to be only partially completed. But the farther they ventured out the weirder things got. Strange glitches in the game’s graphics appeared, getting progressively more disturbing, and eventually even the lighting stopped working. In the end at point was reached where there was simply nothing left: “The game would render nothing — not a shred of me was to be seen.”
Exploring the limits of ‘Skyrim’ is a descent into madness
