We’ve just been sent in a photo from the CES 2012 show floor showing a Sony Ericsson wristwatch that doesn’t look familiar. Could it be an update to the aging LiveView? Hard to say — it’s definitely the right size, and it appears to have a spring-loaded clip built in to the back that would allow the band to be removed and used as an independent module (a little like the iPod nano). Interestingly, the device still reads “Sony Ericsson” on front — not Sony — so it’s unclear whether the brand will actually drop the Ericsson name here at the show. We’re not seeing a placard describing the product, so hopefully we’ll have a chance to get more details on this device over the course of the week.
