Sony plans to upgrade its two Android tablets to Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich, this spring, at about the same time that it delivers the update to its Xperia smartphone line. The Tablet S and Tablet P, we’ve been told, are already running ICS and are being tested behind the scenes, though Sony wouldn’t be drawn on giving any more specific a release window than the spring. The company does plan to add “some really cool unique bits” on top of Android 4.0 especially for its tablet devices, but once again the details of what those additions might be were withheld from us. We don’t mind a bit of mystery to our future and the most important news is now confirmed, anyway: ICS is coming to the Tablet S and Tablet P over the next few months.
