AT&T’s agreement to purchase 700MHz spectrum from Qualcomm had practically been a done deal since the FCC approved it on December 22nd, and now AT&T’s announced that the purchase has been officially completed. The agreement was first announced just a hair over a year ago, and it’s separate from AT&T’s attempted acquisition of T-Mobile. It’s not the big fish AT&T was looking to catch this year, but the deal augments AT&T’s existing LTE spectrum and gives it a little more breathing room for 4G deployments.
