That doesn't mean they're bad devices at all — it's just a necessary mindset to have when looking at them. We had a chance to check out the Android-powered pair earlier this month alongside the Focus S and Focus Flash, and though both do benefit from landscape QWERTY keyboards, neither implement them particularly well. The Captivate Glide's 4-inch, 800 x 480, Super AMOLED screen didn't match up as well to even the adjacent, entry-level Focus Flash, and the buttons on its slide-out keyboard were a little too shallow.

Kudos to Samsung for a more unique form factor on the DoubleTime — a flip-out keyboard and one screen on each side of the top half to accomodate use with or without the QWERTY available — it’s sadly just an entry-level device with a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 screen, 800MHz processor, and Android 2.2 “Froyo.” (We asked if it would ever be getting an upgrade to something more modern, even just Gingerbread. The representative gave a big grin before saying they cannot comment on future roadmap plans — which I’m reading into as being very unlikely.)
