Ice Cream Sandwich is going to offer a new way to unlock your phone: with your face. The new version of Android will use the front-facing camera on the Galaxy Nexus to view your face and if it’s you, your phone will automatically unlock.
Android Ice Cream Sandwich to feature ‘Face Unlock’


Unfortunately, Matias Duarte’s demo during the live event didn’t work, but assuming Face Unlock operates as advertised in November, it will offer a speedier way to securely unlock your phone. As Duarte put it, “Ice Cream Sandwich literally knows your face.”
