Samsung has officially announced LTE versions of the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 8.9 ahead of their IFA debut. The Galaxy S II LTE ups the ante on the original by adding the aforementioned LTE capabilities, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE also picks up the 1.5GHz processor but maintains the original’s specs : including the 8.6mm depth, 1280 x 800 screen, and 455-gram weight. Pricing, release dates, and regional availability are all still not known -- but we do know that if Verizon decided to carry the Galaxy SII LTE, it would more than make up for the carrier’s decision to pass on the original Galaxy S II. Stay tuned for IFA next week, when we fully expect to get our hands on both of these devices.
