Comex, one of the most prolific iOS hackers, will soon be swapping his enthusiast hat for an intern name badge. Known as Nicholas Allegra to his parents and the author of JailbreakMe to millions of iPhone and iPad users, the young chap has tweeted his intention to take up a position with Apple starting in a couple of weeks.

This comes only a few days after CyanogenMod creator Steve Kondik hooked up with Samsung to work on its Android software layer, and also follows Microsoft’s friendly reaction to efforts at jailbreaking Windows Phone. It does seem like we’re witnessing a new trend toward collaboration with, rather than prohibition of, the grassroots coding communities that build up around popular devices. Now if we can just get Sony to jump on board with this idea, the whole world will be a happier place.
