Rare, discontinued Ikea Ottava pendant light, thoughtfully converted to a plug-in fixture with an inline switch for easy, flexible use — no hardwiring required. Originally designed in the 1990s, this piece features a classic nautical-industrial silhouette inspired by early ship lighting. Solid aluminum construction is paired with a clear, mouth-blown glass diffuser that softens the light beautifully and adds warmth not found in most modern reproductions.This piece was bought and left in the original box/ never installed. I assembled it for photos and converting it to plug-in. The fixture has been carefully updated with a clear cord and switch while preserving the original character and hardware. Can be easily retrofitted back to hardwired.

Featuring solid hickory frames with handwoven seats and backs, both chairs are sturdy, functional, and comfortable with beautiful patina consistent with their age. There is visible wear and some damage in the woven seats (see photo), but both chairs are structurally sound and fully usable — they hold weight and function normally as chairs. The wear adds character and could be either left as is or addressed by someone interested in reweaving down the line. Each chair is individually numbered: Chair 1, No. 176; Chair 2, No. 182. These have a great rustic Americana presence and work well in cabins, lofts, and creative studios or as sculptural accent seating. Wear is clearly reflected in price. Sold as is.

It pains me to part with this skirt (barely worn! Japanese sartorial excellence! Chic!!), but I must in order to restore order to my closet. This Toga Archives TOO skirt is truly one-of-a-kind (literally, I believe?). I got these 2 prints from Kel Rakowski in 2011. I had them hanging on my studio wall on Hope Street for years, which is why they have some minor water stains. She used to run a website called nothing-is-new and a tumblr called weird friends, and I just loved all of the archival imagery that she would source. It was another era! Anyway, she made these prints of one of the first pairs of jeans and a really old sweater. This is only from memory and I could be totally wrong. I’m just hoping these land with someone who will give them the respect and care they deserve! They are 28-by-36 inches each.

This was one of the first pieces of furniture my ex and I purchased when we moved into our apartment during the first week of lockdown, and it traveled with us for a brief stint upstate and then to my current apartment. We both agree it’s not really either of our styles anymore, and right now it’s just a holding vessel for all of his newspapers that he never reads but collected for “historical purposes.”

These belonged to my insanely stylish grandparents, who lived in mid-century splendor in Shaker Heights, Ohio. They filter light beautifully, with a slight warm sheen. Scalloped bottoms. Brass-colored metal. Excellent vintage condition. Note that one of the four spokes on one shade is loose (see pic); it’s been this way for decades and hasn’t affected the structure or use.

This now-scarce cast-iron paperweight was used to prevent Village Voice newspapers from blowing away when they were displayed outside newsstands in Manhattan in the 1960s and ’70s. It’s 6 x 2½ x ½ inches and in excellent condition without damage or rust, only light scuffing and blemishes to the painted white letters. A rare find. Own a piece of history!
